Frequently asked questions
What parents ask us most often, with precise answers about what the app actually does.
The app
What is ShekiVerse?
ShekiVerse is an app for children aged 6 to 15, with four universes: games, an Academy of short lessons, My World (an avatar and a room to decorate) and friends approved by parents. It is published by ELK Consulting LTD, in Mauritius.
What age is it for?
Ages 6 to 15, in three groups: Junior (6-9), Explorer (10-12) and Teen (13-15). Your child picks a group the first time the app opens; game difficulty, tone and safety rules adapt.
When will it be released, and on which devices?
ShekiVerse is coming to Android (Google Play) and to iPhone and iPad (App Store). The games are ready; the Academy, My World and friends come next. The parent space is already open at parents.shekiverse.com.
Which languages and countries?
English, French, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Hindi and Arabic (shown right to left). The app is offered in 242 countries and territories, except those under international embargo: Cuba, Iran and North Korea.
Does it need an internet connection?
Not for the games and the Academy: they work offline. A connection is needed for friends and messages, and to show advertising where it exists.
Safety and privacy
Can a stranger contact my child?
No. There is no public profile search and no open chat room. A friend can only be added with their friend code, and the request must be approved by a parent on each side. For ages 13 to 15, you can choose to be informed of new friends instead.
What data do you collect about my child?
Without an account, none: the language, age group and stars stay on the device. If you create a profile, it holds a nickname, the month and year of birth, the country and the languages. Never a photo, a surname, an address or a location.
How are messages protected?
Messages only travel between approved friends. Links, phone numbers and addresses are blocked automatically, and a doubtful message is held back before delivery. Your child can report or block in one tap; the blocked person is not told.
Do you sell data?
No, never. We do no advertising profiling and no resale. Data is used only to run the service, to verify parental consent and to protect children.
Can my child make calls or send voice messages?
Not today. When these features arrive, they will be off by default, and only a parent will be able to turn them on.
Where is the data hosted?
On the servers of our host, Railway, in the United States, with encrypted connections (HTTPS) and passwords stored as hashes. The full list of our service providers is in the privacy policy.
The parent account
Why do I need a parent account?
For everything that puts your child in touch with others: friends and messages. The law in many countries requires verifiable parental consent for children under 13. The games and the Academy need no account.
How do you check that I am an adult?
In two steps: a one-time code sent by email (or WhatsApp), then a quick identity check. We do not keep a copy of your ID document, only the result of the check.
How do I link my child's device?
In the parent space, create your child's profile, then generate a one-time pairing code. Enter it in your child's app: the device is linked to the profile, with no password for your child.
What can I control?
Friends (every request comes to you, and you can remove a friend), quiet hours when messaging pauses, a daily time limit, and in future voice messages and calls. You can also export the profile data.
How do I delete a profile or my account?
From the parent space: “Delete profile” for a child, or “My account” then “Delete my account” with your password. Deletion is immediate and also removes the linked profiles. You can also write to privacy@shekiverse.com.
Free of charge and advertising
Is the app really free?
Yes, for families. There are no in-app purchases, no paid currency, no subscription and no rewards for watching an ad.
Is there advertising?
A discreet banner may appear on the home screen, the games list and the results screen — never during a game, in messaging or in the parent screens. It is non-personalised, limited to content suitable for all ages and flagged as “directed to children”, with no advertising ID.
Why no advertising in Europe?
Out of caution: in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the rules on advertising to minors are especially strict, so we chose to show no ads there. The same applies in China, Russia and Belarus, and wherever the device country is unknown.
