Terms of use
Last updated:
These terms apply to the ShekiVerse app, the parent space and this website, published by ELK Consulting LTD (Mauritius). By using the service, you accept them. If you create a parent account, you accept them for yourself and for the child profiles you create.
1. The service
ShekiVerse offers games, educational content (the Academy), a personal space (My World) and messaging between friends approved by parents. Some features are marked “coming soon”: they will arrive gradually.
The service is free for families. It has no in-app purchases, paid currency or subscription. It may be funded by discreet contextual advertising, in the countries where it is allowed (see the privacy policy), and by educational partners.
2. Age and the role of parents
The app is for children aged 6 to 15. The games and the Academy can be used without an account. Social features (friends, messages) require a verified parent account and a child profile linked to the device.
The parent account is reserved for adults with parental authority or legal guardianship of the child. The parent is responsible for the information they provide, the profile they create and the permissions they give, and commits to guiding their child’s use of the app.
3. Your account
- provide accurate information and keep your password confidential;
- do not share your account and do not create a profile for a child you are not responsible for;
- tell us at security@shekiverse.com if you think your account has been used without your permission.
4. Rules of good conduct
In ShekiVerse, everyone agrees to:
- respect others: no mockery, threats, bullying, hate speech or shocking content;
- never share their address, phone number, school, personal photos or links;
- not pretend to be someone else;
- not try to get around the app’s protections, copy it or disrupt how it works;
- not use the service for commercial, advertising or illegal purposes.
5. Moderation and reports
Messages are filtered automatically; a doubtful message may be held and reviewed by our safety team. Every child can report a message or block a person. Depending on how serious it is, we may hide a message, remove a friend, or suspend a feature or an account, informing the parent. If a child’s safety is at risk, we may alert the competent authorities.
6. Content and ownership
The games, texts, illustrations, sounds, the Sheki character and the ShekiVerse brand belong to ELK Consulting LTD or its partners. You may use them within the service for personal and family use, but not copy, modify, resell or reuse them elsewhere.
Messages remain their authors’. You only allow us to transmit, filter and keep them for as long as needed to run the service and keep it safe.
7. Third-party services
The app is distributed by Google Play and the App Store, whose terms also apply to downloads. Apple and Google are not responsible for the ShekiVerse service. Any advertising is provided by Google AdMob.
8. Availability and liability
We do our best to keep the service available, safe and free of errors, but cannot guarantee it will never be interrupted or faulty. We may change, suspend or stop a feature, telling you in advance if the change is significant.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to direct and foreseeable damage caused by a failure on our part. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law of your country guarantees you. Parents remain the first guarantors of how their child uses the app.
9. Ending use
You can delete a profile or your account at any time, without giving a reason (see the “Delete an account” page). We may suspend or close an account that seriously breaches these terms or puts a child at risk.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. For a significant change, we will tell parents by email at least 30 days in advance. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the change; you can also delete your account.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Mauritius, without depriving consumers of the mandatory protections of their country of residence. If you disagree with us, write to us first: we will look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute may be brought before the competent courts.
If any clause of these terms were found invalid, the others would remain in force.
